Western Australia

Well, the holiday season is over and it was not the ‘End of the World’ in December, so the party that I organized for the event went very well indeed. Especially because we are, in fact, still here! Though I must admit that most of my life, I tend to want to be ‘there’ instead, you know, exploring somewhere new and distant over the horizon! However, suffice it to say, I will just have to remain ‘here’ in 2013 and explore my local back yard as it were=Western Australia…but folks this place is one BIG back yard, so bear with me as it may take some time!
So I will start with today’s ‘Sunday Times’ newspaper, which reports that due to the heat wave, and people around the world, it is HOT, so hot they believe that by next week Australia ‘overall’ will achieve their hottest temperatures on record! Add to that the rather significant ingredient of late season rains and we have the perfect conditions for an over growth of Aussies most deadliest Creatures…like Snakes, Spiders, Jelly fish and many a Bug……hmmmn, lovely?!
Apparently the wetter weather is bringing out more mice and many ‘bugs’ out of their hiding places and hence some of the ‘World’s most deadly Snakes’ are in hot pursuit. Not in my back garden I hope! However the bugs are having a good party of their own and in particular our own  Redback Spider and White Tailed Spider are in abundance. I KNOW, as I have just spent the best part of a Sunday afternoon spraying under my outside table and the roof eaves to get rid of them and they been dropping out like on parachutes!
Hmmn, ok time for the beach, aaah , some of the best in the world. Oops, oh no, they just closed 10 km of coastline as ‘our latest regular ‘Visitor come Tourist ’ -Mr Shark decided to pay a visit that was too close for comfort (well for Surfers  really).
Oh well, maybe it is the End of the World after all, certainly as we once knew it. No other option but to head for the Pub…..Good Excuse hey?!
